On the main street of Plainfield, Vermont (pop. 1,300), across from the white clapboard United Methodist Church and backed right up against the Winooski River, sits a tiny, lopsided building with a beckoning porch: The Original River Run.
We've now outgrown the the original location, but not to worry, we moved right next door.
Jimmy Kennedy, chef/owner, was born and raised in Brewer, Mississippi. His journey then began from rural Northeast Mississippi to Ole Miss to Wasington, D.C. to New York City and ended in Plainfield, Vermont. It was here in Plainfield in 1991 that River Run was opened.
The wear patterns on the wooden floors are getting deeper.
